2. Despite being dyslexic I have always been a Reader. As far back as I can remember I have loved books and reading.
3. If I'm feeling anxious or upset, holding a book can actually help calm me/make me feel better.
4. I have always had trouble sleeping...both falling asleep and staying asleep. If I get 6 or more hours of sleep three nights in a row, I think it's a sign of the approaching apocalypse. I'm actually so used to waking up during the night that it freaks me out on those rare occasions when I sleep straight through without waking up before my alarm goes off.
5. Sometimes I go through a weird cycle where I wake up at 4:47am every morning for about a week and a half.
6. I usually remember my dreams. They vary from wonderful, to incredibly weird, to extremely upsetting, and everything in between. Even though I have terrible nightmares and dreams that do horrible things to me emotionally, I wouldn't give up dreaming if it were possible to do so.
7. I wear odd socks. It amuses me and no-one has ever given me a satisfactory answer to the question "Why, pray tell, should they match?" Sometimes they match in the sense that both (for example) will have penguins on them, but one will be (say) white with one penguin on the side and the other will be grey with lots of little penguins all over it.
8. I love alliteration.
9. Whenever my friend coffee_boffit comes over we usually put the TV on mute at some point and dub over whatever happens to be on with what we call "Tales of Pie" in which rhubarb is the darkest of all pies and should not be eaten by anyone ever lest the darkness infects them (although in reality we both think rhubarb pie is very nice).
10. If I re-read Jane Austen the voice in my head talks like a Jane Austen novel for at least a week afterward.
11. I have a toy monkey and my brother and I take turns to hide it in the house. Anyone is welcome to play. If you find the monkey it's your turn to hide him. We're running out of new places for him to go though. The only time we don't play is at Christmas because then he lives in the tree until it gets taken down.
12. I had to give up reading the news because doing so was leaving me in a near constant state of rage.
13. I spent a year studying at Louisiana State University on the student exchange programme.
14. I used to learn jujitsu but I had to stop after the group relocated to Edinburgh (where most of the members live), which is too far away from where I live for me to travel to for a two hour martial arts session. Getting there wouldn't have been so bad since it's only an hour to get from where I work to Edinburgh, but getting home would have taken three hours on public transport...and given that the session usually ended at 9pm, well... I still miss it and would love to go back if I could.
15. I hate driving in the city and avoid it whenever I can. I don't even like driving outside my "comfort zone" that being the four or five places I drive to regularly and am therefore familiar with the roads. I find driving to new places stressful and if I have to go somewhere new in the car I'll do a test drive of the route the night before whenever possible.
16. It's taken me two days to get this far.
17. I think tea is one of the greatest things ever. One of the cupboards in our kitchen has a shelf entirely taken up by the various different kinds that I have.
18. I'm a Library Assistant. I have a Masters in Information and Library Science and being a librarian is the only job I've ever really wanted. Well I wouldn't mind being the person in one of the Sunday papers (I can't remember which one it is) who answers any questions that people care to send in on virtually any topic.
19. I own one corset and I love wearing it although I don't get to do so very often. I love feeling of being "hugged" by it in that full body, couldn't get it from an actual hug from a person kind of way. I would buy more corsets (there's one in particular I've wanted for a very long time) but since I hardly get to wear the one I do own, I can't really justify the expense.
20. I've purchased three new books since I started this.
21. I adore mince and potatoes - it's one of the few meals where I will always be guaranteed to eat everything that's on my plate. Even if I'm not that hungry or I've been given more than I can actually handle...which was a rather painful lesson actually.
22. I check my e-mail several times a day.
23. Sometimes I forget to eat.
24. I loathe reality TV shows and would like the whole thing to just die now. Most of the time I can't even stay in the staff break room while whatever one happens to be on at the moment inevitably crops up in conversation.
25. I once tried to strangle a self-checkout machine in the supermarket. I was unsuccessful, but felt better anyway.
